Baby-Q: Beers, burgers and baby talk

Throwing a small baby shower for a coworker at the house was tons of fun. We were worried about the weather a bit but turned out alright. I feel like we had such a great idea so I wanted to write it down. Our guest of honour is very humble and didn’t want a big thing. She’s from out of town and this was already a surprise. I asked her to come over for a bbq and then once confirmed, I sent out an email to a few others that knew her and that’s when she found out we were doing a party for her. We also wanted it to be co-Ed but it was definitely overwhelmed by women. I asked people to simply bring beer, flowers and a small gift) if they wanted to. I got a basket from Michaels and filled it with the smaller gifts people got and then others brought bigger gifts that were wrapped. The flowers ended being great because it made a huge bouquet and the gifts were all lovely and thoughtful. We made a simple dinner with burgers and smokies and potato salad. I made small cups with 5 layer dip and chips and one person brought spinach dip. It was easy set up and easy tear down and it was a blast.  I wish I had taken pictures but just completely forgot!
